Towards the future with hydrogen

On the occasion of the congress on the future of green hydrogen in Leuna, the editorial team of the ARD Tagesthemen visited the factory halls of HeiterBlick GmbH. The Leipzig-based manufacturer of trams is currently developing the first hydrogen-powered tram in the whole of Europe, paving the way for a climate-friendly future of local transport. "The hydrogen-powered tram offers completely different possibilities if you want to expand routes, connect satellite towns or the suburbs of a growing city like Leipzig and thus do without overhead lines when building new lines," says managing director Samuel Kermelk.
