The TW 3000 – built to customer requirements

This two-car high-floor tram has been designed exactly to the specifications of üstra Hannoversche Verkehrsbetriebe AG. The bi-directional vehicle is 25 metres long and 2.65 metres wide, narrowing to 2.5 metres at the platform edge. In order to cope with crowds flocking to the city’s trade fairs, up to four units can be coupled together. The TW 3000 has barrier-free access, a high level of passenger comfort, a modern design and complies with rigorous safety standards. Special crash and collision components provide additional protection against impact. The exterior colour scheme of green, silver and black is in keeping with üstra’s corporate design.

Two destination indicators on each side keep customers well informed, and if necessary the driver can use an external loudspeaker to communicate with passengers. The doors are operated by push-buttons with an audible alert, and a coloured LED indicator above the doors (green or red) shows their current status. The four double doors allow for rapid passenger flow. The TW 3000 also sets a new benchmark for passenger comfort. The roomy car sections with tall windows and ample floor space in two multi-purpose zones are designed for flexible use, with cantilevered benches and seats offering extra seating. Energy-saving air conditioning and innovative ambient lighting make for a pleasant atmosphere.

The driver’s cab is separated from the passenger area by a transparent screen. An ergonomic heated driver’s seat with a memory function and two rear-view video mirrors create a practical working environment.
